Meeting the client brief (M4: U3, D1:U3)
I mainly used dark coloured text to fit in with the pictures due to the magazine being a grime magazine. The dark colour as well as dark text helped me create meaning throughout the magazine as it matched the type of scenery and type of feel that grime portrays. My two favourite effects that i used where the bullet holes in the header and also the compass symbol in the middle of the header with only the 'N' visible to clearly indicate that this magazine is about the North of London.
The client brief that we received had asked us to come up with an idea for a North London magazine based on a specific music Genre that is popular within the area. We decided to bring a new and upcoming genre into light, Grime. This most definitely complied with the clients brief which asked for a North London based genre because Grime has originated in the UK and is now very popular in North London. We also made all aspects of the magazine suit the target audience that the clients brief had planned out for us which was people between the ages of 15-20. To make our product more suitable for that age we did things such as make the magazine available through our website which our audience can gain access to on their mobile phones. We also made sure that the magazine is affordable for these younger people who may not have a proper income. We made sure that the magazine was put into JPEG format that way it opens up correctly on any platform or device.

The post-production process is where we take care of all of the editing and last touches. One of the things we had added in during the post-production process is the detail of bullet holes in the background of the logo. This added meaning to the masthead of the magazine as it related it back to a topic that is often spoken about in grime, which is gun violence. I did this by using the magic wand tool in order to delete the background of the bullets so they would fit in behind the actual logo without covering any of the letters. The use of the 'AIRLOCK' font on the masthead had also helped me create meaning within the front cover and the masthead as it gave the letters a background similar to police tape which also relates back to the genre grime.
